Allen Gould was a non-nonsense individual with a drive to succeed
and lived by the creed "Do it Now". This strength of
character coupled with his passion for business established Allen as
a successful entrepreneur. He was determined and relentless, but
people always trusted him because of his honest and forthright
approach. Allen began investing their modest savings in the stock
market. He began studying the market and researched not only stocks,
but money managers very carefully. He guided a cadre of family
members and smaller investors through the tricky waters of the
investment world. He never received any monetary compensation for
his advice, only the satisfaction of passing on his recipe for
financial success. Those that followed him came to rely on his sound
advice and appreciated his genuine interest as well as the financial
rewards.
The Allen and Milli Gould Family Foundation was formed in 1981 in
order to sponsor community projects. The foundation has provided
donations to various causes in Hamilton and Toronto. Today the
foundation contributes a generous gift to the Michael G. DeGroote
School of Business at McMaster University, a gift that symbolizes
Allen Gould's entrepreneurial spirit as well as his benevolence.
