At the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business, we take our motto "Hit Your Career Path Running!" very seriously. Our Gould Trading Floor (GTF) - the first in Canada outside of Quebec - is a case in point. Building on the School's "experiential" learning philosophy, the GTF provides our students with as close to "real-world" experience as possible without stepping off the McMaster campus. Thanks to our business sponsors, CIBC World Markets, Reuters (Canada), and the Toronto Stock Exchange, students have access to real-time data from virtually all North American stock exchanges.

With "Reuters 3000" data available on all 21 computers in the GTF, students enjoy the benefit of a vast storehouse of historical data and news in addition to access to financial information as it happens. Our goal is to increase students' ability to access information and make sound judgments based on market trends and economic performance. That's why, in addition to trading courses, students will be exposed to risk management, portfolio management and other aspects of equity analysis.
