Wheeler - Self Titled
Wheeler's first release features 10 well crafted rootsy tunes
recorded in only 2 days on a digital 8-track at the Wheeler
Mansion in beautiful St. Andrews, New Brunswick just a few months
before the house was repossessed and Wheeler were thrown out onto
the cold dark streets. With Larry Saunders at the controls
and Mike Ramey producing this disc captures the the live acoustic
presence of the band as well as the non stop excess that was
taking place during the session. Once recorded the album was
then mixed and mastered by Mike Ramey at the Soundhole in Toronto,
Ontario. The band on this disc is a scaled down version of
Wheeler with no drums or percussion but a few guest musicians were
added to sweeten the deal.
The players are:
•
Jake Hubbard - vocals, guitar
• Keith MacPherson - bass
• Paul Mahar - guitar, vocals
• Troy "junior" Arseneault - guitar
and guests:
• Al Scott - mandolin, slide guitar
• Larry Saunders - mandolin
• Mike Ramey - harmonica
• Rebecca MacDonald - backing vocals |
